Rule #59: It’s O.K. to BE VULNERABLE!
Is it o.k. to be VULNERABLE? Our society has taught us from a very young age that we shouldn’t be vulnerable. Many people even view vulnerability as a sign of weakness or lack of power. But in reality…that is the furthest thing from the truth. It’s time to change your viewpoint on vulnerability! I’m not saying that you should be vulnerable all the time or that you should disclose private information of yourself to others. What I am saying… is that you need to be willing to let your guard down and express your inner most feelings, thoughts, ideas, and beliefs when you heart is leading you to open up. So many of us have become scared of being vulnerable and opening ourselves up to others, that we have in a lot of ways disconnected. It’s 100% o.k. for you to let your guard down and speak from your heart. Whether this means you opening up and sharing your personal story, pain points, life experiences, lessons learned or by expressing your feelings, thoughts, ideas and beliefs. When you open up and speak your truth, you are given the opportunity to make a difference in the world. How? Your personal truth has the power to motivate, inspire, encourage, strengthen, and help others. It also gives you the chance to communicate and express yourself on a completely different level. This level of open and honest communication has the power to transform you, your relationships, your life, and the world around you.
Exercise #59: It’s O.K. to BE VULNERABLE
In what areas of your life do you feel your heart calling you to be more vulnerable in? Is it sharing your personal story, life experiences, and lessons learned? Or is it expressing your thoughts, ideas, emotions, and beliefs with others? Dig deep in your soul and let your heart guide you as to how you can more openly communicate and express yourself.
