Rule #48: Meditate
“Meditation is a precise technique for resting the mind and attaining a state of consciousness that is totally different from the normal waking state. It is the means for fathoming all the levels of ourselves and finally experiencing the center of consciousness within. In meditation, the mind is clear, relaxed, and inwardly focused. When you meditate, you are fully awake and alert, but your mind is not focused on the external world or on the events taking place around you. Meditation requires an inner state that is still and one-pointed so that the mind becomes silent. When the mind is silent and no longer distracts you, meditation deepens.” (source-yogainternational.com)
It is scientifically proven that practicing meditation has countless health benefits, including: reducing depression, anxiety, and stress; controlling disease and pain management; helping with one’s sleep patterns; aiding substance-abuse problems, eating disorders, the list goes on and on…Meditation improves our overall health and well-being—physically, mentally, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually. As a result, this helps us to build up stronger immune systems so that we can live healthier, happier, and more fulfilled lives. Meditation can significantly help you to de-stress, unplug, and re-energize so that you can live more fully present in your own life.
